Verde Valley—Shixi HS Joint IB-DP Program

Now entering its second year of operation, the VVS-SHS program was created for the purpose of offering Shanghai students the chance to study abroad and receive an American high school diploma at a very diverse and unique location in the US. Aligning two separate education institutions under a common goal (and using the IB curriculum), Verde Valley School and Shixi High School – with the help of U-Learn – work closely together to provide a first-class education experience to their program students.

Also referred to as the “2.5 + .5” Program, students in this joint degree program will spend one semester of their Junior year studying at Verde Valley School in Sedona, Arizona, USA. The remainder of their high school education will be spent at Shixi HS in Shanghai. Upon completion of the program, participating students will receive a dual diploma from both Shixi and Verde Valley.

Brandon Hall—Suzhou HS Dual Diploma Program

Similar to the VVS-SHS program, this joint degree program was created for the purpose of enriching student and school life at two geographically and culturally separated schools. Every semester, approximately 30 Suzhou high school students travel abroad to Atlanta, Georgia, USA to study at Brandon Hall School, where they study intensive ESL and other high school level courses in English.

Upon completion of their Senior year, students in this program receive a dual diploma from Suzhou High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University and Brandon Hall School. Nearly 90% of program graduates go on to pursue post-secondary education in the United States and abroad.

Springdale Preparatory School—Suzhou HS Dual Diploma Program

the SPS-Suzhou HS program was developed for the aim of providing Shanghai and Suzhou and other cities students the opportunity to study in the US and receive an American high school diploma.SPS offers a rigorous curriculum including more than 21 AP courses and over 30 afternoon activities. Students study at two geographically and culturally separated schools and learn the original American courses.

This program is also referred to “1 + 2” Program, students in this joint degree program will spend their first year studying at Suzhou HS. The remainder of their high school education will be spent at Springdale Preparatory School. Upon completion of the program, participating students will receive a dual diploma from both Suzhou and SPS.

Besides this, the program can also be launched as “1 + 1+1” Program. Students achieve their first and last school years in Suzhou HS. For the junior year, they spend at SPS in America. Upon completion of the program, participating students will receive a dual diploma from both Suzhou and SPS.
