This is one of the most popular schools in Shanghai with its own unique characteristics, education style, and good-tempered students. The school adheres to the educational philosophy of "active participation, hard practice," with the goal of training "modern Chinese who are going into the world" and aims to train the next generation with foreign language and computer skills who are well-developed morally, intellectually, and physically.
This primary school, established in 1993, currently consists of three departments: Local, International, and IB-PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.) The school has two campuses and there are currently 46 classes and 1338 students in all, divided into 20 classes with the Local department, 18 in the International department, and 8 in the PYP department.
The school is a sixteen-year full-time school set up by a huge educational group. According to The National Curriculum, with the idea “Let the students embrace the world; let the world be part of the school” the school has developed a special “4+1” curriculum system. The school referred to some quality courses and reconstructed them with new ideas.
This high school is located in the center of the city but has a quiet environment. It is also one of the first experimental and exemplary high schools designated by the Shanghai Education Commission. The school presently has 28 classes with 850 students.
